She is the author of Vanilla Milk: a memoir told in poems\, (Silver Birch Press\, 2014)\, which was a finalist for the 2016 Independent Book Awards and honorable mention in the 2014 Eric Hoffer awards. Her essays and poems have appeared in The Rumpus\, Tahoma Literary Review\, HerStry\, Barrow Street\, Literary Mama\, Modern Loss\, Mutha Magazine\, New Ohio Review\, Rattle\, Salamander\, Spoon River\, The Good Men Project\, and others. Her poem\, “July 28th” won first prize in The Write Place At the Write Time’s contest\, judged by Ellen Bass\, and her poem\, “Apology\,” won first place in the Smartish Pace Beullah Rose Poetry Prize. \nGood Grief is a New Jersey-based nonprofit that builds resilience in children\, strengthens families\, and empowers communities to grow through loss and adversity.
