SUMMARY:Free Webinar: Beyond the Basics of ACEs - Using Research to Promote Healing and Resilience
DESCRIPTION:From the stressors of the pandemic to racism\, our students are coming to us with a significant number of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). This program will take participants beyond a basic understanding of ACEs by providing an overview of current research into the broader array of experiences that can be considered ACEs as well as the importance of also giving weight to positive childhood experiences. From there\, participants will learn about how to respond with more informed\ninterventions at both the individual and school community level. This will include a focus on cultural responsiveness and resilience-building practices. \nDr. Christina Liparini; Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey. She has been an adjunct faculty at Seton Hall University for the past fifteen years training graduate students for careers as school counselors and mental health counselors. She has provided counseling services and psychoeducation to individuals across the lifespan. Throughout her clinical work and teaching\, she underscores the power of relationships and empathy in the change process. She is the mother of two and a Good Grief volunteer. \nAll live attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
