Beyond Comfort Zones: An Experience of Adventure, Connection, and Resilience
Last month six Good Grief teens joined six teens from Imagine for a special summer expedition with the Philadelphia Outward Bound School.
Together, they stepped outside their comfort zones and into an experience designed to foster connection, confidence, resilience, and community. Over the course of several days, participants spent time canoeing, camping, cooking, learning new skills, and engaging in meaningful conversations while surrounded by the natural beauty of the Delaware Water Gap.
For grieving teens, opportunities like this can provide more than adventure. They create space for friendship, self-discovery, reflection, and the reminder that they do not have to navigate grief alone.
We are incredibly grateful to the Philadelphia Outward Bound School for making this experience possible and to Sam Barnhardt for years of partnership, advocacy, and dedication to ensuring grieving young people have access to transformative experiences like this one.
A special thank you as well to our friends at Imagine for partnering with us to support these remarkable teens.
