This webinar examines how the Five Protective Factors can be strengthened to support grieving children, teens, and families. Participants will explore how grief affects each factor, learn to identify unmet needs, and gain practical strategies for nurturing these protective factors in conversations and everyday environments.
Annette Mendez (she/her) is the Training and Curriculum Manager at Good Grief and a former educator and special services/mental health coordinator. Originally from Puerto Rico and Newark, New Jersey, she is a Certified Grief Educator trained by David Kessler and is deeply committed to ensuring that grief education is culturally responsive and honors the full identities of those it serves. Annette is a mother to three children, ages 19, 11, and 9, a proud product of New Jersey public schools, and a first-generation college graduate. She holds a BA and a master’s certification from Montclair State University (Go Red Hawks!) and is a lifelong fan of Mr. Rogers.
