Virtual Programming and Support From Good Grief
Dear Community,
We have seen that the entire world is facing feelings of isolation and grief as our way of life has changed, routines are upended, and a sense of safety has been incredibly disrupted. We’re working hard to respond, not just for Good Grief families but for the entire community. If what we all are feeling right now is grief then who better to emotionally lead us through it than Good Grief?
We take our responsibility during this time seriously so we have been working hard to respond to the need and uphold our mission. As a result, we immediately began running virtual programming for all of our children and families on March 17, 2020. Support groups via video, family activities, private virtual pages, and more are being utilized by our families as they receive the needed support during this isolation and uncertainty. We are still enrolling new families into our peer support virtual programs.
Our Good Grief Schools program is being provided virtually to students and parent education modules are being distributed to school districts so that parents can support the development of their child’s resilience during this adversity and future adversities. A webinar series for school professionals will be available at the end of this month.
In addition to our programs, we have also been creating and releasing new resources for the community on navigating isolation, expressing one’s emotions, talking to children about death during this fearful time, creating rituals since funerals are not occurring, resilient parenting techniques, and parent activities to foster resilience. We are releasing new materials weekly!
To ensure that the resources are easily available to everyone in the entire community, you can find all of our webinars, podcast series, tip sheets, and resource booklets at www.good-grief.org/covid-19. Please share these resources and check back often for more.
Again, thank you so much for your continued support of our mission. I hope you and your family are healthy and supported during this challenging time.
In community,
Joe Primo | Good Grief CEO
