Community Support for Good Grief at Golf Fore the Kids

Good Grief’s 5th Annual golf outing, Golf Fore the Kids, is right around the corner with limited registration spots left open! Golf Fore the Kids takes place on Monday, May 7th at TPC Jasna Polana’s award-winning, championship, golf course in Princeton, NJ. Good Grief’s mission is to provide unlimited and free support to children, teens, young adults, and families after the death of a mother, father, sister, or brother through peer support programs, education, and advocacy. For the past 5 years, Good Grief has been a community asset, giving families hope in the face of devastating loss. Good Grief families come from over 200 towns throughout New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. There are over 800 individuals enrolled in Good Grief’s programs, and each year enrollment continues to grow. All proceeds from Golf Fore the Kids will go toward providing grieving families with free support, and for education and advocacy programs throughout the state.

Local and national businesses have invested in supporting this important cause. Golf Fore the Kids sponsors include: Abbvie, The Ambriola Company, Atlantic Healthcare System, Bayer Healthcare, The Bank of Princeton, Celgene, The Hoffman Family, GI Pathology, The Grover Family, Hamilton Jewelers, The Hough Family, Insperity Services, JBK Associates, The McDermott Family, Penn Medicine Princeton Health, Private Advisor Group, Princeton Anesthesia Services, Princeton Fitness & Wellness, Princeton Gastroenterology Associates, RBC Wealth Management, Rotary Club at Robbinsville, Sanofi, Sheehy & Molinelli, Sridhar Rao, Stephen and Joyce Shueh, and The Wolfson Family.

Robert Meirowitz, M.D. of Princeton Gastroenterology Associates stated, “The work Good Grief does is extremely important. I am happy to help this cause in the hopes that we can make a difference in these families’ lives during their darkest hours. 1 in 7 children will lose a parent or sibling before the age of 20. That is a devastating statistic, and we need the help of our community to continue supporting these families.” Dr. Meirowitz lost his wife when his children were 15 and 18 years old.

Golf Fore the Kids will run from 10:00am to 7:00pm. Golfers are invited to join Good Grief for a relaxing day of golf, networking, food, and fun! Following golf, guests can wind down at the course’s clubhouse for celebratory cocktails, dinner, wine pull, auction and awards. The cost is $450 per golfer and includes lunch, 18 holes of golf, cart fees, beverages during lunch and golf, cocktails, dinner and a silent auction.

If you interested in sponsoring this event there is still time, but Flags and Tee Boxes are running out! To become a sponsor, register to golf or volunteer, you can sign up online at tinyurl.com/GgGolf18, contact Katie Comerford, 609-498-6674 ext. 8002, or email events@good-grief.org.

Support for grieving kids and families is a community effort. Your generosity ensures grieving children can grow-up emotionally healthy and able to lead meaningful and productive lives.
