Free Webinar: Children’s Grief Awareness Day—Classroom Activities to Support Students

Presenters: Evelynn Moon and Annette Mendez
Every school year, Good Grief identifies experts to provide our community with webinars on grief, loss, and resilience. For more information on Good Grief Schools, go to: https://goodgriefschools.org
Good Grief’s Annette Mendez and Evelynn Moon will share classroom-ready approaches designed to help students build understanding of grief, recognize the many ways people experience and express it, and consider how we can support ourselves and one another.
In this webinar, participants will:
- Explore developmentally appropriate ways to introduce grief awareness in school and classroom settings
- Learn activities that help students understand that grief can look, feel, and be expressed differently from person to person
- Identify language and facilitation strategies that allow students to participate without requiring personal disclosure
- Consider ways to create emotionally safer classroom conversations about grief, loss, support, and connection
- Leave with practical ideas and resources that can be used for Children’s Grief Awareness Day and throughout the school year
This webinar is designed for teachers, school counselors, social workers, administrators, youth-serving professionals, and others interested in creating more grief-aware and supportive school communities. Previous grief-training experience is not required.
