Children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) typically experience and express grief in unique ways, making the process especially challenging for them. In this webinar, we will discuss ways in which caregivers, other family members, mental health professionals and educators can effectively support children and adolescents living with ASD who are experiencing loss in their lives. This webinar will also explore how youth living with ASD may understand grief, and how caregivers, other family members, mental health professionals and educators can initiate conversations about coping with loss in healthy ways. Finally, we will go over some of the tools that caregivers, educators, and mental health professionals may implement to help children and adolescents living with ASD cope with their loss, in addition to strategies they themselves may use to promote their resilience and well-being.
