Narrative Therapy for Grief

The mission of Good Grief’s “Grief is Good – Stories on Grief and Resilience” is to provide people with the opportunity to record, preserve, and share their grief story and journey. These recordings will become part of a collection of stories that others can listen to for years to come in order to build connections and create a compassionate community. This is done to remind one another of our shared humanity, to strengthen and build the connections between people, to teach the value of listening, and to weave into the fabric of our culture the understanding that everyone’s story matters.

Tell Your Story

To create your story, invite a loved one, family member, friend or anyone else you choose to Good Grief’s recording studio in Princeton to share in a 40-minute meaningful conversation. Or, join us on your own to tell your story. In this uninterrupted time think about the story you want to share and the memories you want to preserve. This is your chance to talk about whatever you want and ask the questions that really matter to you.

The Interview

There are multiple ways to conduct your interview:

  • Storytelling: As an individual or group, tell a story about your person who died. You can ask your guest(s) questions to help the story come to life, they can ask you questions, or a trained volunteer can help conduct the storytelling.
  • Interviewing: To learn more about your person who died conduct an interview with your guest(s). You can ask questions to gather facts, memories, and stories you want to learn and remember.
