The Summit Area Public Foundation Helps Put the Good in Grief

Summit, NJ (March 14, 2018) – Good Grief is pleased to announce they have received a $15,000 grant from the Summit Area Public Foundation (SAPF). The funds will support Good Grief’s direct service, peer-support programming called Nights of Support. Good Grief equips children and families with the necessary coping skills required to face grief by giving them tools they can use for the remainder of their lives. The support groups reduce isolation, teach resilience, create a safe environment to remember and share one’s story, and help grieving families develop a sense of possibility and hopefulness for the future.

The Summit Area Public Foundation fosters philanthropy in the Summit area by identifying local needs and offering donors flexible ways to make a difference in the lives of their neighbors. During the past 10 years, SAPF has awarded more than $4.7 million in grants to 117 nonprofit agencies. SAPF awards an average of 37 grants per year. Good Grief thanks the Summit Area Public Foundation for their support and for helping make a difference for grieving children and families in the Summit, NJ area. The community is grateful to the Summit Area Public Foundation for helping put the good in grief by working to ensure that no child ever has to grieve alone.
